Heavy Sans
๐๐๐ป๐ฎ
A Discord username cannot use a fancy font. The @username allows only lowercase letters, numbers, underscores, and periods. The name people actually see is the display name or a server nickname, and both accept Unicode. Paste a short styled name there, and keep the handle plain so friends can still add you.
๐๐๐ป๐ฎ
๐ซ๐๐๐บ
๐๐ฎ๐ง๐
๐๐ช๐ฃ๐
๐ป๐๐๐
๐๐ฆ๐๐
Clean sans, serif bold, and typewriter are the member-list styles. Luna in Heavy Sans is ๐๐๐ป๐ฎ. Four characters, same as the plain name, and still readable at a small size.
๐๐พ๐ท๐ช
โ๐๐๐ถ
Lฯ ษณฮฑ
Lฯ ฮทฮฑ
๐ฟ๐ข๐๐
ฤปลณลฤ
Script and pastel styles are for a short nickname, not a sentence. Pretty Bold Script of Luna is ๐๐พ๐ท๐ช. If a capital looks inconsistent, that letter is one of the older script symbols.
โโคโโ
๐ ๐ ค๐ ๐
โงโฐโฉโ
โ โโคโโ โ
Lโuโnโaโ
๐ป๐ ๐ฝ๐ฐ
Bubbles are wide. โโคโโ is still four characters, but it takes more horizontal space in the member list. Use one word.
สแดษดแด
สแตคโโ
แดธแตโฟแต
โแตคโโ
โ สแดษดแด โ
โ แดธแตโฟแต โ
โฅ สแตคโโ โฅ
Petite caps (สแดษดแด) and superscript (แดธแตโฟแต) keep a name quiet. They still have to fit in 32 characters, and they still cannot go in the @username.
Copied styles land here so you can grab them again.
No. Discord's username rules, from its own help article, are strict. The handle is 2 to 32 characters, lowercase, and limited to Latin letters, numbers, underscores, and periods. Two periods in a row are rejected. There is no font menu and no exception for mathematical letters.
That handle is how someone adds you and how you confirm who a request is from. Leave it typeable. The styled name is the other field.
| What people say | Actual field | Font? |
|---|---|---|
| Discord username | @username | No. Plain aโz, 0โ9, _, . |
| Discord name | Display name | Yes. 1โ32 characters. |
| Name in one server | Server nickname | Yes. Replaces the display name there. 1โ32. |
| Name only you see on a friend | Friend nickname | Your private label. It does not change their name for anyone else. |
Use Luna or your own short name. Count the letters before you add a frame. The cap is 32.
Heavy Sans gives ๐๐๐ป๐ฎ. Notebook Cursive gives โ๐๐๐ถ. Cute Bubbles gives โโคโโ. Pick the one you can still read in a list.
Desktop: User Settings, Profiles, Display Name. One server: User Settings, Profiles, Per-server Profiles, then the nickname. Phone: You, then the profile editor.
Open the mention picker in a server and type part of the new name and part of the @username. Both should find you. The handle you share with friends stays the plain one.
The full set of styles, including server and channel labels, is the Discord font generator. Sidebar names have different limits: server and channel fonts.
The display name is global. It shows in DMs, friend requests, and any server where you have not set a nickname. It does not have to be unique. Two people can both appear as ๐๐๐ป๐ฎ.
The server nickname is local. Set it in Per-server Profiles and that server shows the nickname instead. Clear it and Discord falls back to the display name. Use a nickname when a gaming server wants a styled tag and the rest of Discord should stay quieter.
You can change the display name as often as you like. The @username is limited to two changes a week, and a font paste should not touch it.
Bold (๐๐ฎ๐ง๐), sans (๐ซ๐๐๐บ), and petite caps stay legible at list size. Script is fine for four or five letters and tiring for a long tag. Bubbles and squares need even fewer letters. Underline styles double up characters because each mark is its own Unicode character.
More on the paste itself: how to get Discord fonts. If you only want weight inside a chat message, that is markdown, covered in how to bold text in Discord.
No. The @username accepts only aโz, 0โ9, underscores, and periods, must be 2 to 32 characters, cannot contain two periods in a row, and is stored in lowercase. Unicode fonts will not save there.
Paste it into the display name or a server nickname. The display name is what people see in DMs, friend requests, and servers where you have no nickname. A server nickname replaces it inside that one server. Both allow 1 to 32 characters.
People can search the mention picker by your display name or your username. If a server nickname is set, the mention shows that nickname. Adding you as a friend still uses the unique @username, which stays plain.
Discord lets you change a display name whenever you want. The @username is different: you can change that handle up to twice a week. A font paste is a display-name edit, not a username edit.
Use Heavy Sans, Serif Bold, or Petite Caps. Skip underline, strike, and vaporwave. Those add marks or spaces, so a name that looks short can miss the 32-character cap.
No. Copy the Unicode from this page and paste it in User Settings, Profiles. Nitro is not required, and you do not add a bot.
