Strike Mix
S̶a̶l̶e̶
A strikethrough text generator puts U+0336, the combining long stroke overlay, after every letter so the line travels with the text you paste. Discord chat does not use that character. Discord uses ~~text~~ markdown, and only inside a message. Bios and display names need the Unicode line. Each letter plus its mark counts as two characters.

Strike Mix of Sale is S̶a̶l̶e̶ (8 characters). Sale is 4 letters, and U+0336 follows each one. The space in no sale is not marked: n̶o̶ s̶a̶l̶e̶ is 13 characters, not twice the whole string. Italic Strike is 𝑆̶𝑎̶𝑙̶𝑒̶. Cursive Strike is 𝒮̶𝒶̶𝓁̶ℯ̶.

Heavy Strike of Sale is 𝗦̶𝗮̶𝗹̶𝗲̶ (8 characters): sans-serif bold, then U+0336. Bold Italic Strike is 𝑺̶𝒂̶𝒍̶𝒆̶. Strike Script uses bold script: 𝓢̶𝓪̶𝓵̶𝓮̶. Typewriter Strike is 𝚂̶𝚊̶𝚕̶𝚎̶. The mark still doubles the letter count.

Gothic Strike is 𝔖̶𝔞̶𝔩̶𝔢̶. Bubble Strike is Ⓢ̶ⓐ̶ⓛ̶ⓔ̶. Caps Strike is ꜱ̶ᴀ̶ʟ̶ᴇ̶ (8 characters): small capitals, then the line. Wide Strike fullwidth-encodes first, so Sale becomes S̶a̶l̶e̶. For small capitals without a line, use the small caps generator.
Copied styles land here so you can grab them again.
Type the words, copy one card, and paste. You should see the line in the field you pasted into. If you see tildes, you copied markdown from somewhere else. If you see plain letters, that font did not draw U+0336.
Sale is the sample. A correction inside a bio can be two words with a space. The space stays a space.
Strike Mix is S̶a̶l̶e̶ (8 characters). Heavy Strike is 𝗦̶𝗮̶𝗹̶𝗲̶ (8).
A bio, a caption, or a display name. For a Discord message, do not use this page. Type two tildes, as in how to strikethrough in Discord.
In a Discord message, ~~Sale~~ is eight characters of source: two tildes, four letters, two tildes. After you send it, Discord draws a line and does not show the tildes. One tilde does nothing. A space against the tildes does nothing. Channel names, server names, and display names do not parse that syntax at all.
Strike Mix of Sale is S̶a̶l̶e̶, also 8 characters, and the line is part of the text. Paste it in a display name, an Instagram bio, or a TikTok caption and the tildes are not required. Paste ~~Sale~~ in those fields and the tildes stay visible, because those fields are not a Discord message box.
The chat steps, the mobile keyboard, and the bold-plus-strike combos are the blog post: how to strikethrough in Discord. Styled names that are not struck are the Discord font generator.
| Place | What you paste | Characters | What draws the line |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discord message | ~~Sale~~ | 8 | Discord markdown. The tildes are hidden after send. |
| Discord display name | S̶a̶l̶e̶ | 8 | U+0336. Markdown is ignored in names. |
| Instagram bio or TikTok caption | 𝗦̶𝗮̶𝗹̶𝗲̶ | 8 | U+0336 on heavy sans. Tildes would show as tildes. |
| A phrase with a space | n̶o̶ s̶a̶l̶e̶ | 13 | The space is not struck. Six letters become 12, plus the space is 13. |
| @username or handle | plain letters | 4 | Symbols are rejected. Do not paste a strike here. |
Heavy Strike is on the bold text generator as one card among heavy letters. Strike Mix is on the small text generator among superscripts. This page is the full U+0336 set, and nothing else. A diagonal stroke is U+0338 on the cool font generator.
Sale is 4 characters. Strike Mix stores the letter and then U+0336, so the counter reads 8. no sale is 7 characters with one space. Struck, it is 13: twelve marks-and-letters plus the space. A 32-character Discord display name can hold Sale struck, with room left. It cannot hold a long sentence once every letter pays double.
The same doubling hits Under Caps on the small caps generator, because U+0332 is also a combining mark. The line and the letters are not a font-size trick. They are extra code points.
It copies your letters with U+0336 COMBINING LONG STROKE OVERLAY after each one, so a horizontal line travels with the text. It is not a font file and it is not Discord markdown.
Discord chat uses two tildes: ~~text~~. The tildes are instructions. They work in a message and do nothing in a display name, a channel name, or another app. This page copies the struck letters themselves.
Each letter plus U+0336 is two characters. Sale is 4 letters and 8 characters once struck. A Discord display name allows 1 to 32 characters, so a struck name fills twice as fast as plain text. Spaces are not struck and still count as one.
Only if that font draws U+0336. Some fonts show the letter and drop the stroke. Strike Mix and Heavy Strike are the two to compare. If both lose the line, pick another card or leave the word plain.
No. U+0338 COMBINING LONG SOLIDUS OVERLAY is a diagonal stroke. It is on the cool font page, not here. Every card on this page uses U+0336.
No. Discord usernames allow a-z, 0-9, underscore, and period. TikTok and Instagram handles reject the mark too. Paste into a display name, a nickname, or a bio.
